lin korobkova
lin korobkova is a Berlin-based composer and text-manufacturer whose practice is situated between two medialities: discursive reflection, registered in texts, and practical experiments, taking place between written scores, live performances, and recorded tracks.
Since 2025, they have been pursuing a Master’s degree in Philosophy at The New Centre for Research and Practice with Cécile Malaspina and Reza Negarestani. They completed a Konzert-Examen program at HMDK Stuttgart and hold an MA in Composition and Music Theory from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where they studied with Isabel Mundry and Johannes Caspar Walter in a joint program between the Zurich and Basel institutions. Their Master’s thesis, “spaces surrounding music, spaces seeping into music”, is dedicated to the mediality of music.
They were awarded the Forum of Young Composers 2023 prize by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation in collaboration with the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts, the IGNM Zürich Competition and the 26th Apeldoorn Composition Prize.
lin held a lectureship in elective composition at the State University of Music and
Performing Arts Stuttgart (HMDK Stuttgart), where they offered seminars on the interrelation of composition and media theory as well as individual instruction and have been invited as a guest lecturer to several institutions, including the conference on critical theory “Agency, Ritual, Gesture. Distributed Agency in Aesthetic Practices” at the Zurich University of the Arts, the musicological conference “Music, Body, and Embodiment: New Approaches in Musicology” at the Centro Studi Opera Omnia Luigi Boccherini, and a Luigi Nono workshop at the University of Hamburg.

flashbacks to perform (2020-2025)
for piano, Dolores Privitera
Can one transmit memories of sensibility to another being? Is it possible to share the intimacy of connection with a musical instrument? This project is making an attempt to grasp, to notate and to recompose relation to playing and to ritualise it in shifting repetitions.
Based on analyses of corporal recollections from my pianist childhood, mental archaeology takes place in the realm of famous piano repertoire I performed or wished to perform. Whether or not flashbacks of physical touch, combined with phantom pain, are transferable, the outcome of this implantation surgery is to be witnessed.
tape my head and mike my brain, stick that needle in my vain (2024-2025)
for two performers with a similar range, recorded composed correspondence, two produced vinyls, phones and turntables, Anna Piroli and Erika Sofia Sollo
Technological mediators of communication produce spatial mutations – spaces where two or more places are brought together into a single fold. Such a hybrid, despite the initial impression of expansion, actually shifts the user into a non-place, a vacuum. We believe ourselves to be speaking with one another, yet the only thing which is truly being spoken – the only utterance that indeed takes place – is the communication channel itself. What begins as a dialogue with or through technology gradually [or prematurely] reconfigures itself into its monologue.
Title to be defined (2025)
for Quartetto Maurice
Maurice during lin’s residency in Pinerolo, Torino. The creative process will be intimately shaped by the specificity of the location and its historical heritage, reframing established symbolic layers and imprinting them with personalised significance.
