Dolores Privitera
Dolores Privitera began studying piano in 2007, at the age of seven. With refined interpretative sensitivity and a constant pursuit of new sonic expressions, she actively contributes to the promotion of contemporary music, bringing to her performances a balance of technical precision and expressive intensity. She studied with A. Valentino, D. Cabassi, Elisa D’Auria and then she continued her advanced studies with Maestro Marina Scalafiotti, and in 2024 she obtained her second-level Diploma from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Turin, graduating with the highest honors (110/110 cum laude with Honorable Mention), with a particular focus on contemporary repertoire. From 2021 onwards, she further explored this repertoire under the mentorship of Maestro Anna D’Errico, cultivating a personal and original interpretative language.
Since 2020, she has increasingly devoted herself to contemporary music, exploring works by 20th-century composers such as Giacinto Scelsi, Helmut Lachenmann, Olivier Messiaen, Luigi Nono, Jonathan Harvey, Salvatore Sciarrino, György Kurtág, Georg Friedrich Haas, and Edgard Varèse.
Dolores has participated in numerous chamber music projects and solo performances at major music festivals like in 2024 and 2025, at the Festival dell’Ascolto Sperimentale in Turin To Listen To, performing concerts dedicated to Luigi Nono and Edgard Varèse alongside sound engineer Stefano Bassanese and a specialized ensemble.
For Musica in Prossimità she will perform flashbacks to perform by lin korobkova. Can one transmit memories of sensibility to another being? Is it possible to share the intimacy of connection with a musical instrument? This project is making an attempt to grasp, to notate and to recompose relation to playing and to ritualise it in shifting repetitions.
Based on analyses of corporal recollections from my pianist childhood, mental archaeology takes place in the realm of famous piano repertoire I performed or wished to perform. Whether or not flashbacks of physical touch, combined with phantom pain, are transferable, the outcome of this implantation surgery is to be witnessed.
