Anna Korsun
Ukrainian composer, sound artist and performer based in Germany. Korsun studied composition in Kiev and Munich with Moritz Eggert and works for different formations from solo to orchestra, including acoustic instruments, voice, electronics and sounding objects.
She collaborates with visual arts, dance, theater and literature involving both professional and amateur musicians. Besides an activity as an artist Anna performs contemporary music as vocalist/keyboard instruments, directs musical projects and teaches composition at Amsterdam conservatory, as well as at international courses. “I do not differentiate between musical and non-musical sounds. Sound becomes musical at the moment it is used for music, regardless of whether its source was a traditional musical instrument or an object that was normally used for non-musical purposes”
Ierotelestía (2025) for flutes, recorders, harp, harpsichord, and voices is an acoustic journey that delves into the distinctive sounds of the harp, recorder, transverse flute, and harpsichord, enriched by the musicians’ own voices. The piece aims to weave together instrumental timbres with vocal elements, creating a rich and immersive soundscape. Each instrument and voice contributes to a dynamic, evolving musical experience, showcasing the versatility and expressive range of this one-of-a-kind ensemble.
