Il workshop tenuto da Alessandro Bosetti si interrogherà sulla natura della memoria sonora e su come essa interagisca con altri concetti legati al suono come ascolto, composizione e registrazione.
Nel corso della giornata, verranno proposti una serie di esercizi, protocolli, partiture e meditazioni intesi a modulare e articolare tra loro pratiche di ascolto e arte della memoria.
La “mnemotecnica” classica, dall'antichità romana (Cicerone), al Medioevo (Raymond Lulle)
al Rinascimento neoplatonico (Giordano Bruno, Giulio Camillo, Robert Fludd) si concentrava sulla memorizzazione di contenuti verbali e testuali attraverso l'uso di immagini ed emblemi visivi inseriti in architetture immaginarie. Nel corso di questa lunga storia, pochissima attenzione è stata rivolta ai suoni.
L'obiettivo delle attività proposte durante il workshop è quello di mettere in atto tecniche mutuate della mnemotecnica tradizionale, ma rivolte alla pratica della memoria sonora, esplorando con la pratica e riconsiderando in profondità i processi attraverso cui ricordiamo suoni e musica.

The workshop held by Alessandro Bosetti will question the nature of sound memory and how it interacts with other sound-related concepts such as listening, composition and recording. Over the course of several days, a series of exercises, protocols, scores and meditations will be proposed to modulate and articulate listening practices with the art of memory.
Classical “mnemonics”, from Roman antiquity (Cicero) to the Middle Ages (Raymond Lulle) to the Neo-Platonic Renaissance (Giordano Bruno, Giulio Camillo, Robert Fludd) focused on the memorisation of verbal and textual content through the use of images and visual emblems embedded in imaginary architectures. Throughout this long history, very little attention has been paid to sounds. The aim of the activities proposed during the workshop is to implement techniques borrowed from traditional mnemonics, but aimed at the practice of sound memory by exploring through practice and reconsidering in depth the processes through which we remember sounds and music.
