Michelle Agnes Magalhaes è una compositrice brasiliana di base a Parigi che attribuisce grande importanza al coinvolgimento del corpo del musicista all’interno della performance, nonché ai nuovi approcci agli strumenti e alla strumentazione tradizionale.
Nel 2002 ha conseguito la Laurea in Composizione Musicale presso l'Università Statale di Campinas e nel 2010 il Dottorato in musicologia presso l'Università di San Paolo. Nel 2012 ha iniziato a studiare con i compositori Salvatore Sciarrino, Stefano Gervasoni e Chaya Czernowin.
Inoltre, all'età di 23 anni, ha ricevuto un premio per artisti dall'Unesco (Ashberg Fellowship) che le ha permesso di viaggiare a lungo in Europa, esponendola alle molte e diverse comunità di musica contemporanea del continente.
La sua musica fa parte di numerosi repertori di ensemble contemporanei internazionali come Ensemble Intercontemporain, Talea Ensemble, Accroche Note e molti altri.
Ha ottenuto borse di studio, residenze e commissioni da Radcliffe Institute (Università di Harvard), UNESCO, IRCAM, Biennale di Venezia, Ministro della Cultura brasiliano e francese, Fondazione Camargo di Cassis e Fondazione Giorgio Cini di Venezia tra gli altri.

Michelle Agnes Magalhaes is a Brazilian composer based in Paris who places a high premium on the engagement of the musician’s body within the performance, as well as new approaches to traditional instruments and instrumentation.
In 2002, she got a Musical Composition Bachelor at the State University of Campinas, and in 2010, she got a musicology PhD at the University of Sao Paulo. In 2012, she started following the instructions of the composers Salvatore Sciarrino, Stefano Gervasoni and Chaya Czernowin. Beside that, at the age of 23, she became the recipient of an artists’ prize from Unesco (Ashberg Fellowship) that allowed her to travel extensively in Europe, exposing her to the many different communities of contemporary music of the continent.
Her music is part of numerous repertoires of international contemporary ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Talea Ensemble, Accroche Note and many others.
She has been awarded fellowships, residences and commissions from Radcliffe Institute (Harvard University), UNESCO, IRCAM, Venice Biennale, Brazilian and French Culture Minister, Camargo foundation of Cassis and Giorgio Cini foundation of Venice a.o.

In questo workshop saranno proposti giochi interattivi e piccole improvvisazioni per lavorare sull'ascolto, la percezione e l’analisi dei suoni.
