2026 Edition — L'Beel

Saturday 28 November, 9.00 pm – Teatro del Lavoro

In L’Beel’s music, references to Arab culture meet urban rhythms and pop flamenco, becoming a lens through which to explore the present.

Born in El Raval, Barcelona’s multicultural neighbourhood, to a Moroccan family, L’Beel develops her own musical language without reducing these influences to a single source, allowing them instead to coexist and shape one another. The result is a sound deeply rooted in Barcelona’s vibrant music scene and its many identities, while remaining open to a wide range of references and influences.

At the heart of her work is a personal and deeply autobiographical approach to songwriting, reflecting on relationships and their inherent ambivalence: attraction, vulnerability, separation and regret. This shifting emotional landscape is mirrored in the structure of her songs, where rhythmic and emotional elements alternate and overlap. L’Beel gives shape to these tensions through contrasting vocal registers, moving from intimate, almost confessional singing to moments of greater rawness and intensity. Beats and urban influences support and punctuate her vocal phrasing, while flamenco and echoes of Arab culture introduce inflections, accents and colours that help define the project’s identity.

As these elements move from the writing process to the stage, they acquire a greater sense of immediacy. The voice remains at the core of the performance, while rhythm becomes a way of creating tension and movement, alternating more sparse passages with moments in which the percussive element takes over. It is precisely in the interplay between voice and pulse, tension and suspension, that L’Beel’s distinctive character emerges: a constant movement between different codes, and a fluid, highly responsive approach to sound that remains firmly rooted in the emotional sphere.

L'Beel

L’Beel, the stage name of Latifa Belfakir, is a Spanish artist of Moroccan descent. Active since 2021, she has developed a musical language that brings together references to Arab culture, Andalusian musical traditions and flamenco with reggaeton, R&B, hip hop and other contemporary urban sounds. Her artistic vision emerges from the interplay of these different influences, which she reworks through a personal and distinctly autobiographical lens.

After releasing her debut singles in 2021, she presented Traeme flores, her first EP, in 2022, bringing the project to the stage with a debut performance at Barcelona’s Jamboree. The following year, she performed at Sónar alongside Kitty110 and LaBlackie, joining the line-up of one of the leading festivals for electronic and contemporary music.
Over the next few years, she added Mis Niñas, Castigo, El Arrepentido and Cruce de miradas, progressively expanding her repertoire. Her latest single, Aire Fresco, came out in 2026.
