Carlo Laurenzi
After studying guitar, composition, and improvised music, Carlo Laurenzi devoted himself to electronic music, both as a composer and performer. Since 2005, he has been involved in research programs, installations, concerts, and music creation projects throughout Europe, with his electroacoustic works performed at numerous contemporary music festivals.
Since 2011, he has served as a Computer Music Designer at IRCAM (Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique) in Paris, a pioneering institute in musical research related to electronic production, founded by Pierre Boulez, with whom he collaborated extensively, overseeing the computer-based direction and performance music of his works with electronics.
He regularly collaborates with internationally renowned composers in the creation of mixed music pieces, including Chaya Czernowin, Marco Stroppa, Philippe Leroux, Michaël Levinas, Philippe Hurel, Francesco Filidei, Mark Andre, Carmine Cella, Philippe Manoury, and others.
His research focuses on the interaction between traditional instruments and electronic processing, exploring new modes of sonic expression and expanding the possibilities of live electronics.
